I also tried, remembering from the XP days, when I'd have to run in reduced color mode, and 640x480. It also changed my compatibility settings to XP SP2, which will run the game, just not the patcher during install.ĩ5 (froze the whole damn computer and black screened me) I had to press and hold power to turn off, then restart. I had to recheck and apply several times before it took. When I updated to 10, it still had the admin icon on the D2 icon, but in properties, it was unchecked. ![]() ![]() Now, I will pause for a second, to tell you, I had the settings for 8.1 to Run as Admin, and to run in Windows 7 (this was the most recent advice from Blizzard, to get the updater to patch properly) I checked the rest of my drivers (they were already up to date) I installed Windows 10, and it will run, but it does that weird display thing, where it's full screen, but you have black letter boxes on either side of the actual game. Last night, before I upgraded to 10, I opened it, to ensure everything was still running properly. I've played it on XP SP2, I couldn't get it to install on Vista (I didn't try long), and I most recently ran it with no problems on Windows 8.1 I've been playing Diablo II:Lord of Destruction for 12 years. I had this all formatted nice and pretty, but it didn't take.
